COW HARBOR WARRIOR CAPTain JOSEPH J. BOCCIA JR. USMC 4 MILE WARRIOR RUN
Established in 2012, “Cow Harbor Warriors” is 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. It is made up of a team of dedicated Northport community members focused on "honoring and enabling“ individuals in the tri-state area who were wounded as a result of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), by raising funds and awareness and enlisting the community’s support for organizations that advance wounded warriors past their visible and invisible injuries. The Cow Harbor Warrior Weekend was created as a way to raise funds and awareness for the veterans and veterans organizations we support, by inviting wounded warriors, their families and our community members to a weekend of recreation, celebration and appreciation.
The Capt. Joseph J. Boccia Jr. USMC 4-Mile Warrior run starts at picturesque Crab Meadow Beach Park on Long Island Sound - travels a flat course along Makamah preserve, turns up a hill through a quiet Northport neighborhood, it continues along the rolling bluffs overlooking Northport Harbor, and it finishes fast back down a hill to a flat finish back at Crab Meadow Beach.
In loving memory of Capt. Joseph J. Boccia Jr., USMC
